A digital season of fashion shows

Why does a fashion stylist even go to fashion shows? Attending shows and events during fashion week allows stylists and magazine editors to see the new season upcoming collections including cruise and couture shows giving them the advantage of knowing and seeing it first. It's also a great way to network and connect with fashion friends and support designers.

It’s crazy to think that 4 months has passed since the last fashion month which has always kicked off in New York, followed by London, Milan and Paris. It has been this way for decades but with Covid-19 things will have to be done differently.

The show must go on and in March Shanghai bravely brought digital shows, with live stream showcasing over 150 designers.

LFW, Milan & Paris will follow this trend, New York however are not!

Starting with Paris who will virtually hold a men's fashion week from July 9 to July 13. London for the first time in 40 years will be holding a gender fluid virtual event starting June 12 - June 14. The types of content that might appear on LFW’s site will range from a digital lookbook to a brand video. The diversity of the offering will be related to what designers are able to produce during self-isolation, and will also reflect a new strain of branding, marketing, and communication that has taken hold during the pandemic. Milan will also be gender fluid showing virtually from July 14 to 17.
