Today I want to give you something I wished was given to me earlier on in my career… like at college, while interning or even when I began assisting. Pour yourself some coffee and get ready to learn something new that you can action while reading this blog post.

As a stylist, you will need a portfolio to showcase all your amazing styling capabilities. Before the internet, stylists, photographers, hairstylists, and makeup artists had a physical portfolio (think of a massive photo album or several). This was what they would carry from meeting to meeting to show the work they had done.

Luckily nowadays it is all online or to be more specific on your own website.

Before a website you will need a domain. The domain is the name of your website eg. www.styleboss.com is our domain name. You will need to search that the domain name you want is available for purchase.

πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ’» Domain checker Click here to find out if the name you want is available and then you can purchase it.

*tip - go with your full name. My styling portfolio is www.zane-page.com

Once you have secured this you can hang on to it unless you already have work you want to put on the website in which case you can start building a website. When you are starting out you can upload the work you have assisted on but be sure to credit the full team - stylist, model, photographer etc. Creating a website allows you to send a link to new potential work and will give you the push to get out and start testing.

If you watch my stories you will know I’m not very tech oriented but these sites are made just for that! Super easy and straightforward and should you need any assistance you can start a live chat for help. πŸ˜‰

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯ It excites me to think you are now one step closer to reaching your goals. Every step counts!
