Copenhagen Put Sustainability At The Forefront Of Their Fashion Week

Copenhagen fashion week is one of my favourite weeks! Its “compared to known” street style, fabulousness, chic and effortless brands demonstrate true esthetic and originality. While CFW is not one of the big four fashion weeks, in recent years it has had its deserved place and attention in the fashion industry. This year attention has once again been drawn to the Scandinavian fashionistas for their first Annual sustainability report that lists plans to become zero-waste by 2022.

“Our first annual Sustainability Report is released today, marking a status update on the first year of Copenhagen Fashion Week's 2020-2022 Sustainability Action Plan, that sets out to incur far-reaching and long-term change within the fashion industry.”

"Despite a challenging year, we believe that the status of our Sustainability Action Plan shows the potential of our strategy and three-year targets to inspire and push fashion companies to embrace more sustainable business practices. Although unable to meet every one of the goals set for 2020, most goals were accomplished and we look forward to continuing the work," says Cecilie Thorsmark, CEO Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Copenhagen Fashion Week strives towards making substantial changes to the way the event is executed and works to inspire and encourage the industry to take steps towards becoming more sustainable.

As is we needed any more reason to love the scandi style?! If you did, this is it. Let’s hope the big four follow their lead.
